The employment law firm of Karpf, Karpf & Cerutti, P.C. is committed to providing quality legal services.  Our experienced attorneys and dedicated administrators and paralegals understand how important a legal claim can be if you have lost your job due to discrimination or are suffering in a discriminatory, hostile, or otherwise unfair work environment.

We believe that a claim for employment discrimination should be just as important to the employment attorney handling the claim as it is to the person making the claim.  Our goal is to be among the most responsive and client-centered employment law firms.  Our staff includes highly qualified labor lawyers who practice throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.

Attorneys

Ari R. Karpf is a very zealous advocate and trial attorney.  He graduated with honors in his undergraduate studies and within the top of his class at Thomas M. Cooley Law School.  Mr. Karpf also received several awards in law school including but not limited to the president's achievement award and was recognized as a distinguished appeals magistrate for his review of grading by professors.

Following his graduation from law school, Mr. Karpf taught introductory law school classes at Thomas M. Cooley Law School while working for attorneys and law firms in Michigan.  He thereafter relocated to Pennsylvania where he focuses his litigation on civil rights and employment law, and on a very select basis, complex criminal matters.

Mr. Karpf is admitted to practice within the state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and practices in other states around the country in various federal lawsuits.  He has litigated hundreds of civil rights cases and has served as co-counsel and lead counsel in many state and federal trials.


Amy Y. Karpf graduated Magna Cum Laude from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting with an array of awards.  Prior to entering law school, Ms. Karpf worked for two of the "Big Four" Accounting firms.  Thereafter, she attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School where she also received significant recognition, graduated Cum Laude, participated in, and later oversaw, students within the School's SixtyPlus law clinic, where pro bono services were provided to elder residents in Michigan.

She brings a wide range of experience to the practice of law, as she is not only an experienced attorney but also a certified public accountant.  She has worked for Fortune 500 companies around the country, public accounting firms, and in management overseeing nationwide business practices.

Ms. Karpf is licensed to practice law in the highest courts in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and she practices predominantly within federal court.  She, like her colleagues within the firm, dedicates the overwhelming majority of her practice to representing individuals and companies before state and federal agencies such as the Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and other Civil Rights Commissions and in lawsuits concerning employment and civil rights matters.


Jeremy M. Cerutti is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  Mr. Cerutti graduated from Rutgers University School of Law in 2005.  He then served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable James J. Morley in Burlington County, New Jersey Superior Court from 2005 to 2006.  He has been an associate attorney with Karpf, Karpf & Cerutti, P.C. since 2006 and focuses primarily in the areas of employment law and civil rights.

Mr. Cerutti practices primarily in federal court, including the District of New Jersey and the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania.  He has litigated hundreds of employment cases and has been very successful.


Christine E. Burke, a Partner with the firm, is licensed to practice law in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Ms. Burke's Federal Bar Admissions include Pennsylvania's Eastern District, the District of New Jersey and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. She practices primarily in the realm of employment law, with a prior criminal law background.

Ms. Burke’s employment litigation background includes participating in oral argument before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, where retired Associate Supreme Court Justice of the United States Supreme Court, Sandra Day O'Connor, sat by designation. Ms. Burke has tried multiple federal trials to successful jury verdicts, and frequently litigates in federal and state courts throughout NJ and PA. Ms. Burke also assists federal sector employees with EEO matters before federal investigative agencies and tribunals.

Ms. Burke previously held a prestigious judicial internship with the Honorable Carol Sandra Moore Wells, Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, as well an intensive year-long internship with the Federal Defender's Office in the District of Delaware. During her time at the Federal Defender's office, she assisted in white collar defense and appellate work to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and United States Supreme Court.

Ms. Burke’s accomplishments include creating and organizing a legal symposium entitled "Women Law and the Economy" for the Women's Rights Law Reporter, founded in 1970 by United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. She is an active member of the Sidney Reitman Employment Law Inn of Court, and is a current member of the Philadelphia Bar Association.

Ms. Burke graduated Cum Laude from Rutgers School of Law in Newark, New Jersey with her undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware


Adam C. Lease is licensed to practice law in the highest courts of Pennsylvania and New York and in several federal district courts. Mr. Lease graduated Cum Laude (with honors) from Pace University School of Law in 2003, where he was a member of the School's Law Review.

Mr. Lease brings a strong level of versatility to the practice of employment law because he practiced extensively in the defense of civil litigation for many years before turning his focus over the last several years to representing plaintiffs in employment litigation.

He represents individuals, and on a select basis, small to mid-size employers, before state and federal agencies and in state and federal courts throughout Pennsylvania and New York. Mr. Lease focuses in employment litigation, including but not limited to, ERISA, the FLSA, Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, whistleblower rights, and a host of other state and federal employment laws.


Katie A. Beatty graduated Cum Laude from Widener University School of Law. During her time at Widener Law, she was a member of the Trial Advocacy Honor Society and placed 1st in the Hugh B. Pearce trial competition. Mrs. Beatty was also the Head of the Issues Committee of the Widener Women's Law Caucus. Mrs. Beatty has a wide variety of experience working as an intern during and after law school prior to joining Karpf, Karpf & Cerutti, P.C. as an associate. She served as an intern with the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Widener Pennsylvania Civil Law Clinic and at A Woman's Place.

Prior to law school, Mrs. Beatty graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts. Mrs. Beatty is licensed to practice in the highest courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and frequently advocates for clients before state and federal agencies and courts. Mrs. Beatty focuses primarily in employment law and select family matters.


Julia W. Clark graduated Cum Laude from the Earle Mack School of Law at Drexel University, where she was a Dean's Scholarship recipient and a Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Teaching Fellow. Prior to joining Karpf, Karpf & Cerutti, P.C., Ms. Clark completed a year-long internship with the Delaware County District Attorney's office.

She received her B.A., cum laude, in Political Science and Sociology from Tulane University, where she was a Merit Scholar, on the Dean's List and the recipient of awards for public service.

Ms. Clark is admitted to practice in state and federal courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She focuses primarily in employment law and select criminal matters.


Zachary J. Zahner graduated Cum Laude from Widener University School of Law in Delaware. At Widener, he received the Outstanding Student Service award for his dedication to pro bono and school service and the Don Wherry Jr. Achievement Award for accomplishment in trial advocacy. Mr. Zahner received his B.A. in Business Administration from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining Karpf, Karpf & Cerutti, P.C., Mr. Zahner practiced in the area of civil insurance defense and handled complex litigation cases. He also has a wide variety of experiences in criminal law matters. Mr. Zahner was a Certified Legal Intern for the Erie County District Attorney's Office and the Pennsylvania Criminal Defense Clinic, where he conducted hundreds of preliminary hearings for both the prosecution and defense.

Mr. Zahner is licensed to practice in the highest courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and frequently advocates for clients before state and federal agencies and courts.


Timothy S. Seiler graduated Cum Laude from Barry University School of Law, where he received a scholarship for his academic achievements. Mr. Seiler received his B.A. in Criminal Justice from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, where he obtained Dean's List honors. Prior to joining Karpf, Karpf & Cerutti, P.C., Mr. Seiler interned for the 18th Judicial Circuit of Florida, where he gained experience in a variety of complex legal matters.

Mr. Seiler is licensed to practice in state and federal courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He now focuses primarily in employment law matters, before state and federal agencies, including the EEOC, NJDCR, PHRA. He is well versed in the area of unemployment compensation law and frequently appears before the unemployment compensation tribunals in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including their Boards of Review.


Mark D. Tieman graduated from Rutgers School of Law-Camden, where he was a Deans Academic Excellence Scholarship recipient. During law school Mr. Tieman represented local citizens pro bono as a member of the Rutgers Civil Practice Clinic. He served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Robert B. Reed of the Superior Court of New Jersey. As a summer law clerk, Mr. Tieman worked in the Employment litigation group at Duane Morris in Philadelphia, a large and well-recognized international law firm.

Mr. Tieman graduated from Rutgers School of Law-Camden where he was a Deans Academic Excellence Scholarship recipient and represented local citizens pro bono as a member of the Rutgers Civil Practice Clinic. During law school Mr. Tieman served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Robert B. Reed of the Superior Court of New Jersey. He also worked as a summer law clerk in the Employment litigation group at Duane Morris in Philadelphia, a large and well-recognized international law firm.

Mr. Tieman is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. At Karpf, Karpf & Cerutti, he zealously advocates for our clients (employees and former employees) in federal and state courts, as well as administrative hearings. Mr. Tieman's focus is to help employees who have been wronged.


Nicholas R. Romeu is an associate with the firm. Mr. Romeu graduated from the Temple University Beasley School of Law, where he was a Beasley Scholar and a Rubin Public Interest Law Honor Society Fellow. During law school, Mr. Romeu worked at a plaintiff's civil rights and employment law firm and for a federal district judge in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, while also assisting as a Counselor in Temple Law's Academic Core Enrichment Program.

Prior to joining Karpf, Karpf & Cerutti, Mr. Tieman worked as an associate at a general litigation firm, where he represented clients in a number of matters including foreclosure defense, criminal defense, and immigration hearings.

Mr. Romeu is licensed to practice law in state courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as before federal courts in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey. He currently focuses his practice on civil rights and employment litigation throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey.


Dean J. Bogin is an associate with the firm who focuses his practice on civil rights and employment litigation, representing employees who have been wronged. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Bogin worked as an associate at a general practice firm where he zealously represented clients in Pennsylvania and New Jersey state courts in a wide range of both personal and commercial matters. Mr. Bogin also assisted clients in matters involving business formation, contract drafting and negotiation, and intellectual property protection.

Mr. Bogin graduated from Drexel University's Thomas R. Kline School of Law with honors in the Intellectual Property Concentration as well as honors for Pro Bono Service. There he focused his studies on negotiation, business law and intellectual property. During school Mr. Bogin worked in the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic where he assisted local start-up business with diverging legal matters. He also worked in the Juvenile Unit at the Defender Association of Philadelphia where he supported Assistant Defenders in all aspects of their cases.

Mr. Bogin is licensed to practice in state courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as before federal courts in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.


Yinan Ma is an associate with the firm. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Ma worked as an associate in a small law firm specializing predominately in employment-law matters.

Ms. Ma graduated from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, where she was President (for a 1-year term) of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. During law school, Ms. Ma worked in the Farmworker Legal Aid Clinic where she obtained very favorable results for clinic clientele. She also interned with in-house legal departments prior to graduating law school.

Ms. Ma is licensed to practice in state courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as before federal courts in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey.


Miguel A. Terc (Of Counsel) is a graduate of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He is a member of both the New York and District of Colombia state bars. He is also admitted to the United States District Court, for the Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of New York, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Terc litigates a wide variety of state and federal employment cases throughout New York State. Originally from New York, Mr. Terc has lived all over the United States, but continues to call New York City home. Mr. Terc is of Hispanic decent, and is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.

Miguel Terc received his Bachelor of Arts from the City College of New York (CCNY), of the City University New York. Before entering law school, he was a commissioned officer in the United States Army, serving in the Air Defense Artillery, stationed at Ft. Bliss, Texas and he separated from military service with an honorable discharge with the rank of First Lieutenant. He served as an advanced team member for Candidate William Clinton, prior to his election to United States Presidency; served as an Assistant Commissioner to the Department of Juvenile Justice for the City of New York; served as the first vice chair of Community Board #7 in the Bronx, and worked with several elected officials at the state and local levels.

Mr. Terc’s diversified background allows him to understand the needs of his clients, those who are regular hard working individuals, and the interests of small businesses and corporations.


Meet our dedicated and professional office staff for administrative and paralegal support

Kristin L. Stipa graduated from Kutztown University where she majored in Criminal Justice and minored in Paralegal Studies.  Kristin received her Liberal Arts and Sciences Bachelor's Degree from Kutztown in May of 2007.  In addition, Kristin received her Notary Public Commission in January 2008 from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Ms. Stipa assists in all aspects of complex civil litigation and pre-trial matters concerning witnesses, document preparation, and trial preparation.

In her spare time, Ms. Stipa enjoys participating in charity events and playing soccer in the Bensalem Women's league.


Allison M. Forte graduated from Kutztown University where she majored in Criminal Justice.  Ms. McGlynn received her Liberal Arts and Sciences Bachelor's Degree from Kutztown in May of 2008. Ms. McGlynn joined Karpf, Karpf & Cerutti, P.C. in June of 2008 as a Paralegal. Ms. McGlynn assists in all aspects of complex civil litigation and pre-trial matters concerning witnesses, document preparation, and trial preparation.

In her spare time, Ms. Forte enjoys playing soccer in the Bensalem Women's League.


Lauren R. Walker graduated cum laude from Bucks County Community College with an Associate's Degree in Police Administration. In addition she also graduated from Empire Beauty School while working in a local studio, before deciding to head back to the office environment. With her, she brings over seven years of customer service experience to Karpf, Karpf & Cerutti, P.C.

In her free time, Ms. Walker enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and traveling internationally.


Kate I. Roberts is our office manager. She graduated from Kutztown University where she majored in Psychology.  Prior to joining the the Karpf, Karpf & Cerutti, P.C., Ms. Roberts was an administrative assistant at Futura Group, located in Ewing, New Jersey.  During her time there, she was responsible for various administrative duties as well as special projects and accounting work.  Ms. Roberts brings her organizational skills and her ability to multi-task with her to Karpf, Karpf & Cerutti, P.C. Ms. Roberts is responsible for the organization and coordination of our office's operations, procedures and resources to facilitate organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

She actively participates in Multiple Sclerosis charities each year. In her spare time Ms. Roberts enjoys reading and outdoor activities.
